Was ist Interlingua?

Ich möchte hier beschreiben, was ich in Interlingua sehe und wie ich es benutze. Kurz gesagt, Interlingua ist ein Mix verschiedener romanischer Sprachen mit einer vereinfachten Grammatik. Die häufigsten Gemeinsamkeiten im Wortschatz, eine einfache Grammatik und die Ähnlichkeit lateinischer Worte in westlichen Sprachen haben es mir sehr leicht gemacht, Interlingua in kurzer Zeit zu sprechen, zu verstehen, zu lesen und zu schreiben. Dies nach nicht sehr erfolgreichem Lernen von Spanisch, Italienisch, Französisch und Portugiesisch.

Ich habe Interlingua praktisch mit Spaniern verwendet und wurde verstanden. Die Antworten kamen in Spanisch und wurden von mir mit meinem Basiswissen der spanischen Sprache verstanden. Dadurch, dass ich aber flüssig Interlingua spreche, verstanden werde und so kommunizieren kann, hat sich das Erlernen der anderen Sprachen, die Interlingua stark ähneln (Italienisch, Spanisch, Portugiesisch) insoweit erledigt, als dass ich nicht länger versuchen muss, gebrochenes Spanisch oder Italienisch mit diesen Leuten zu sprechen.

Ich kann Interlingua mit Sprechern von Italienisch, Spanisch und Portugiesisch verwenden, ohne dass diese Interlingua kennen. Betonen möchte ich, dass mein passives Wissen (Verstehen und Lesen) verschiedener romanischer Sprachen zur Kommunikation mit Sprechern dieser Sprachen ausreicht.

Auch muss darauf hingewiesen werden, dass Französisch, Rumänisch und andere romanische Sprachen, wie Rätoromanisch, sich stärker von Spanisch und Italienisch unterscheiden. Deswegen ist die Verwendbarkeit von Interlingua mit diesen Sprachen nur eingeschränkt möglich. Ein anderes Problem stellen die vielen Dialekte und Slangs dar. Z.B. Neapolitanisch oder auch andere südliche Dialekte der italienischen Sprache lassen sich mit Interlingua kaum bewältigen. Praktische Erfahrungen mit Katalanen habe ich bisher nicht sammeln können.

Anscheinend klingt Interlingua für Spanier oder Italiener wie ein Dialekt der jeweils anderen Sprache. Auf die explizite Frage hin erklärten mir meine spanischen Konversationspartner, die Worte des Interlingua könne man als eine verwandte, romanische Sprache erkennen.

What is Interlingua?

I would like to describe here what I see in Interlingua and how I use it. Briefly, Interlingua is a mixture of various Romance languages with a simplified grammar. The most common similarities in vocabulary, simple grammar and the similarity of Latin words in Western languages made it very easy for me to speak Interlingua, to understand it, to read it, and to write it in a short amount of time--this after studies of Spanish, Italian, French and Portuguese that were not very successful.

I have made practical use of Interlingua with Spaniards and have been understood. The answers came back in Spanish, and I understood them with my basic knowledge of Spanish. So since I fluently speak Interlingua and am understood and can thus communicate, it has made it easy for me to learn other languages that are strongly similar to Interlingua (Italian, Spanish, Portuguese), and I no longer had to use broken Spanish or Italian to speak with these people.

I can use Interlingua with speakers of Italian, Spanish and Portuguese, without these people knowing interlingua. I would like to emphasize that my passive knowledge (understanding and reading) of various Romance languages is enough to communicate with speakers of these languages.

I must also point out that French, Romanian and other Romance languages, such as Romansh, are significantly more different from Spanish and Italian, so the usefulness of Interlingua with these languages is restricted. The large number of dialects of Italian and its slang present another problem. For example, speakers of Neapolitan or other southern Italian dialects can barely make sense out of Interlingua. I have not been able to get any practical experience with Catalans.

To Spaniards and Italians, apparently, Interlingua sounds like a dialect of the other language. When asked about this, my Spanish conversation partner explained to me that Interlingua words could be seen as something from a related Romance language.
