(Languages of this post: Interlingua, English)

The use of the Internet for helping all Interlinguists, whether new ones or veterans

The Union Mundial pro Interlingua has become a dysfunctional organization because it places economic and electronic barriers to many parts of our literature. Fortunately, these barriers are becoming less serious because there are now many pedagogical and bibliographic resources that are freely available on the Net and can be found rather easily through the Google search engine.

And to learn Interlingua, a person does not need access to all our literature. My own publications for promoting the increased use of Interlinguais are now sufficiently extensive that they by themselves are enough to study it effectively.

“Interlingua in interlingua,” with practice texts and a course that consists of reading texts and structural notes, is enough in itself for studying the language quite well. Added to it are the resources of “Interlingua multilingue”, dedicated to students of Interlingua and its source languages, which now contains almost 600 articles designed especially to be interesting to an international readership and useful for teaching purposes.

There are also many other sources in cyberspace that contain a lot of free information in and about Interlingua, and with the persistent use of Google’s search engine, you will be able to find them rather easily. I hope that the Union Mundial pro Interlingua in its policies will eventually be motivated by a spirit of generosity and not of avarice. If it continues its failed policies, it runs the risk of becoming more and more irrelevant for the spread of Interlingua.
