Occidentalista interessate in “Interlingua multilingue”

(Languages of this post: Interlingua, English)

I have received a message from an Occidentalist who wants to add his favorite planned language to “Interlingua multilingue.”

I answered him saying that I was very happy that he is an Occidental/Interlingue enthusiast but that I want to publish in “Interlingua multilingue” only texts in Interlingua and its source languages (English, French, Italian, Spanish/Portuguese, and Latin).

I then invited him to establish a new blog with the title “Occidental multilingue” o “Interlingue multilingue” as a project of his own and emphasized that he is welcome to use for his project the texts that I have published in “Interlingua multilingue,” all of which form part of the international “creative commons.” The use of these texts, I said, could save him a lot of time and effort if he used them in this way.

Finally, I said to him that I would really like to find a native user of French who could translate the texts of “Interlingua multilingue” into French. If I could find such a person, the representation of French in “Interlingua multilingue” would increase considerably. (Naturally, I would also like to find natives of Spanish and Portuguese who could produce for this blog final versions of the texts in these languages.)

Because of Bruno Zani’s very kind contributions to my project, the representation of Italian in “Interlingua multilingue” has greatly increased, and the number of people visiting the site at http://www.hkyson.wordpress.com has doubled. I have also attracted a new follower to the site at http://www.interlinguamultilingue.blogspot.com, and now there are twelve of them.

At this point I would like to remind my readers that the purpose of “Interlingua multilingue” is to use Interlingua as a bridge for students of its source languages and also as a resource for these students if they want to study Interlingua itself. The comparative method of studying similar texts (with the help of grammar books) is a very useful way of learning groups of languages. And publishing “Interlingua multilingue” furnishes me with an excellent way of continuing my studies of Interlingua and its source languages and of learning to use Google’s electronic translator with increasing effectiveness as its capabilities improve.
