Obama promises greater investment in US infrastructure.

To stimulate the American economy, the president elect of the United States, Barack Obama, promised new infrastructure investments on a scale not seen in the country in almost sixty years.

“We are going to create millions of jobs by making the largest new investment in our infrastructure since the creation of the interstate highway system in the 1950s,” said Obama in a speech at the site of his transmission cabinet.

“We are going to invest our money in more innovative and more intelligent ways, and we will follow a simple rule: Use it or lose it. If a state does not act quickly to invest in roads and bridges in their communities, it will lose the money.
