British Sisters give birth to a new “baby with three mothers.”

The boy who three years ago was known in Britain as the “baby with three mothers” now has a brother. The three mothers are sisters. One is the mother who adopted the boy, and the other two are her sisters. One donated an egg, and the other actually gave birth to the child.

Alex Patrick, 35, was diagnosed with cervical cancer seven years ago, and doctors told her she could not bear children.

However, in 2005, her two sisters--her twin, Charlotte Pestello, and her older sister, Helen Ritchie--got together to help Alex have her first child, Charlie.

Charlotte donated an egg while the other sister, Helen, allowed the use of her uterus for pregnancy. The egg was fertilized in Charlotte with sperm from Alex’s husband, Shaun.

The oldest, Charlie, was born in 2005, and last year the sisters came together again to help Charlotte have her second son, Oliver, who was born in October.
