(Languages of this post: Interlingua, Latin, English)

Aeneas veni a Italia.

On dice que in tempores antiquissime Saturno veniva a in Italia.

Postea Latino governava ille regiones.

Rhea tamen habeva filios gemine, Romulo e Remo. Quando Amulio apprendeva isto ille poneva lor matre in vinculos e mandava que on jactava le pueros a in le Tibere.

Romulo e Remo tunc passava lor pueritia inter pastores.

Antiquissimis temporibus Saturnus in Italiam venisse diciter. Ibi haud procul a Laniculo arcem condidit, eamque Saturniam appellavit. Hic primus Italis agri culturam docuit.

Postea Latinus in illes regionibus imperavit. Eo tempore Troia in Asia a Graecis eversa est.

...

Post Aeneae mortem Ascanius, Aenaea filius, regnum accepit. Hic sedem regni in alium locum transtulit, urbemque condidit in monte Albano, eamque Albam Longam appellavit.

Ascanio successit Silvius, qui post Aeneae mortem a Lavinia genitus erat.

...

Nam his Vestae sacerdotibus non licet nubere.

Tum urbem condiderunt in monte Palatino, quam Romulus a suo nomine Romam vocavit. Dum urbs moenibus circumdatur, Remus fratrem irridens moenia transiluit, et Romulus iratus Remum occidit.

---

People say that a really long time ago Saturn came to Italy. There not far from the Janiculum [a hill on the west side of the Tiber], he built a fort and called it Saturnia. He was the first person to teach Agriculture to the Italians.

Afterward Latinus ruled in those regions. At that time Troy was conquered by the Greeks. From there Aeneas, the son of Anchisa and the goddess Venus escaped with many Trojans who had survived that war and came to Italy. There the king, Latinus, gave him a kind reception and let him marry his daughter Lavinia. Aeneas founded a city, which he named Lavinium in honor of his wife.

...

After Aeneas' death Ascanius, the son of Aeneas, was given the kingdom. He moved its seat somewhere else and founded a city on Mount Alban and named it Alba Longa.

Silvius was succeeded by Ascanius, who had been born to Lavinia after Aeneas' death. All his descendants reigned in Alba Longa as Rome was being founded.

One of the kings, Romulus Silvius, said he was greater than Jupiter, and, when it thundered, he ordered his soldiers to hit their shields with their spears and said that this sound was much louder than the sound of thunder. He was hit by lightning and thrown into Lake Alba.

Silvius Proca, the king of the Albans, left behind two children, Numitor and Amulius. Numitor, who was older, inherited the kingdom. Amulius, after forcefully expelling his brother, took over the kingdom.

...

Amulius, to consolidate his power over the kingdom, conspired to kill off Numitor's son and made his daughter, Rhea Silvia, one of the vestal virgins, who, in their role as priestesses, could not get married. Rhea, however, gave birth to twin boys, Romulus and Remus. When Amulius learned about this he threw their mother into chains and tossed the boys into the Tiber.

The water of the Tiber had flooded over its shores; and though the boys were put in one of the river's channels, they were left on dry land by the water when it receded. Hearing their cries, a female wolf went to them and gave them nourishment. Seeing this, Faustulus, a shepherd in the area, took them away and gave them to his wife to bring them up.

Romulo and Remus then spent their childhood among shepherds. When they became adolescents and learned who their grandfather and grandmother were, they killed Amulius and restored the kingdom to Numitor. They then founded a city on the Palatine hill, which Romulus named Rome after his first name. He then surrounded the city with walls. His brother made fun of them and jumped over them, and Romulo got mad and killed him.
